YMA vs. Gorton (Away)

Loss 2-4

Yonkers Montessori Academy Varsity Baseball fell to Gorton 4-2 at Fleming Field.  Gorton was sparked by Papi Arriz and Johnathan, who teamed up for two hits and two RBIs.  The top of the first saw Yonkers Montessori Academy Varsity Baseball take an early lead, 1-0.  Gorton answered Yonkers Montessori Academy Varsity Baseball’s top inning with one run of its own in the first. Gorton scored on an RBI double by Papi Arriz.  Gorton went up for good in the third, scoring two runs on a sacrifice fly by Levine and an RBI single by Papi Arriz.  Gorton piled up one more run in the bottom of the sixth when Johnathan stole home.

Yonkers Montessori Academy Varsity Baseball hangs tough until late in 11-5 loss to Pawling

It was a tight game until Pawling scored five late runs for the 11-5 victory.  It was a tough loss for the YMA Eagles. Juan Peguero pitched 5 innings and had 3 strikeouts. Julian Gonzalez played strong at 1st base, taking in 5 outs in 6 innings.  Captain Isael Tejada had 2 singles and a stolen base and was brought in for a run by sophomore captain Ja’Lin Davis who had a double, a single, 2 runs batted in, 1 run and pitched a 1, 2, 3 . . . 6th inning.  Third baseman Andy Molina had a single and a double and catcher Carlos Callazo received a walk in bottom of the fourth. Ismael Guzman and Michael Ramos went 0 for 2 but played well defensively. Captain Ralph Sanchez had a catch deep in left field and threw for an out in the 6th inning. Shortstop Jack Bryant went 1 for 3 but brought in 2 runs and scored 1 himself. Eagles fall 5-11 final.

Win/Loss 5-11

Yonkers Montessori Academy Varsity Baseball makes the most of 1 hit in 7-2 victory over Palisade Prep  !!  YMA and Palisade Prep each put runners in scoring position on Monday, but the YMA Eagles capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 7-2 win.

Palisade Prep got six hits compared with just one for Yonkers Montessori Academy Varsity Baseball, but Palisade Prep stranded six on base.  Jack Bryant handled Palisade Prep’s lineup with ease, racking up 10 strikeouts. Bryant allowed two earned runs on six hits and one walk over seven innings.  The top of the third saw Palisade Prep take an early lead, 1-0. #23 singled, scoring #10 after a triple by #10 got things started.  The game’s last lead went to YMA thanks to a fifth inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on an error and.

YMA Eagles added four more runs in the bottom of the sixth. A clutch bases loaded walk scored Juan Peguero to open the scoring in the frame.
